Chay Alexander Wright has been involved in music production since his days as a teenage musician in suburban Atlanta. Chay, the other half of the production team known as the “Twins,” grew up composing, producing, and engineering in the studios of the late-great Curtis Mayfield. Chay’s principle instrument is guitar. It was his accomplishments as a young guitarist and producer that won him a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, in Boston, where he attended with his twin brother, Chad – a very accomplished drummer, as well. While at Berklee, Chay and his brother, Chad, quickly gained the reputation for being stellar musicians and producers by such notables as, grammy-award winning producer, Richard Evans (Peabo Bryson, Dianne Shuure, Natalie Cole), Maurice Starr (New Kids on the Block) and Sony/Epic executive, Vivian L. Scott. It was at this point that Chay and Chad decided to legitimize their production efforts under the name, look alike productions, developing new artists and continuing a mission to marry the sensibilities of traditional popular songwriting/composition with the ever-evolving New-Jack beats of the day. Chay has, since, worked in the studio as a producer/engineer with many artists/projects ranging from R&B namesakes Tavares, to various elements of the LaFace family, and legendary Hip-Hop producer, Easy Mo Bee (Miles Davis, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac), to name just a few. He recently has been recording and developing Urban/Pop sensation, Jasmine Lopez, out of New York, allianced with the Radio Disney network, as well as Los Angeles' hot-new Rock female, Chlod (www.myspace.com/Chlod5). Chay, also, works with his brother, Chad, and sister-in-law, Noriko Olling as musical directors and producers under the family business, look alike productions, LLC. Some of the artists they work with, on the road and in the studio, include: the Temptations (Motown Records), Teena Marie (Unviersal Records), Corbin Bleu (Hollywood Records), Alan Hewitt (Earth, Wind & Fire producer) and alternative diva, Billy Miles (EMI Records). Most recently, the production company has been working as original music composers for television and film projects currently in production.
